As we mark the end of Mr. Edmond Owor’s regime who has been Chairman of the Executive Committee of Black Pirates RFC for four years, we share, acknowledge and appreciate the achievements of Black Pirates Rugby club under his reign.

  1. The Black Pirates returned to the top 3 of the Nile Special Premier League in 2017 after being a step away from relegation.
  2. We emerged winners of Uganda Cup, Nile Special Premier League, and The National Sevens Cup marking our first Trebble Win in 2017/2018.
  3. The Black Pearls, which is our women’s team, was started in November 2017 and the players are already dominating the National team by almost 80%.
  4. We won the USPA Team of the Month award in October 2017 and our very own Emily Lekuru from Black Pearls was awarded the USPA player of the year 2018.
  5. We have made a recovery in our presence on the National Team. There was a point in time when we used to have up to 9 players of the 22 and even went down to none. We are now back stronger than ever with regulars on both 7s and 15s teams. We have some of the best players in the land right now.
  6. Our tremendous growth has attracted big names in the corporate world such as Stanbic Bank which is the official sponsor of the Black Pirates from 2018 to 2021.
  7. We regained the confidence of our schools who are not just feeding the club but competing at the highest level. These schools are not limited to but include; SMACK which won National School Rugby Championship 2019 and Kings College Budo.
  8. We have also successfully managed to move and develop our own home in Bweyogerere at Kings Park Stadium, independent of our previous common home, Kampala RFC where we spent 23 years. It is now a training ground for the National Team.
  9. A fans club has been started which has registered a fast growth in the number of supporters and an Executive position for the Chairman of the Fans Club has been created in the Executive Committee starting 2019/2020.
  10. The club constitution has been reviewed in harmony with top clubs around the world.
  11. The relationship between The Black Pirates and Mwamba RFC in Kenya has been revived since both teams are sponsored by Stanbic Bank. The teams will soon be playing against each other in Kenya.
  12. The club has been stabilized and confidence to both players and stakeholders has been created. The PRIDE of PIRATES RFC has been reinstated
