Indeed time flies when you’re having fun, and Robert Musinguzi, the Director of Rugby at Stanbic Black Pirates is clearly having lots of fun. Today, Saturday, 12th February 2022, Coach Bobby as his fondly known by all, takes charge of his 100th fixture as Pirates visit the Rimula Rhinos at legends. Standing in for HeadCoach Marvin Odong, the DoR is in familiar surroundings, having joined the technical setup at Black Pirates RFC 7 years ago when taking charge of the junior side Black Sailors. It looks like just yesterday, that Coach Bobby graduated from midday fixtures to the premier 4pm kick offs.
Ever the meticulous planner, he’s already overseen a clean sweep of all local accolades by the sea robbers in the 2017/18 season, and as if that were not enough, he resurrected a 7s series to level with eventual winners in the 2021 season. Coach Bobby too, has occupied the national team dugout for the men’s 15s. And yet this century of games is so telling for the Telecommunications Engineer, who has steered a most productive 7 years at the club. It showcases what is arguably Coach Bobby’s biggest attribute. Consistency!
